How to Remove Echo in Video Conferencing

With the continuous advancement of technology, video conferencing has made great progress, mainly in cloud video conferencing. Since cloud video conferencing is mainly used in scenarios where multiple parties participate remotely, there are many ways to participate in the meeting, including PC, mobile phone, tablet, hardware terminal, etc., so echoes may be generated during use, and even whistling sounds may occur due to mutual interference, affecting the effect of the meeting!
From a physical point of view, the main reason for the echo is that the microphone collects the speaker's voice twice. Simply put, the microphone first collects the sound of the speaker, and then collects the speaker's voice played by the speaker in the same physical space. The interval between these two sound collections is short, so it is easy to produce echoes, and even whistling sounds in severe cases; in addition, there are some reasons caused by poor sound processing of some participating devices.
In response to the above phenomenon, different ways of participating in the meeting can eliminate the response by taking relevant measures.
1. Avoid when attending a meeting with a PC/mobile phone/tablet
If the echo is caused by the poor sound processing of the PC/mobile phone/tablet itself, you can generally mute the sound system; electromagnetic interference may occur between mobile devices, so keep a certain distance between each mobile device during the meeting to avoid interference caused by being too close; in addition, you can disable the audio of the computer itself and use a conference microphone or conference omnidirectional microphone with an independent sound card instead, and only use the microphone or omnidirectional microphone for sound input and output.
2. Attending a meeting with a single video terminal
In a conference room composed of a single device, it is mainly necessary to avoid the system microphone being too close to the audio output end of the display/TV speaker. If the two are too close, they may interfere with each other and generate noise. In addition, in a single conference room, you can choose a suitable conference microphone device according to the conference room scene. Users should be cautious in choosing hundreds of devices on the market for standard conference rooms. Such devices basically have no echo cancellation module and the conference effect is extremely poor.
3. Multiple devices participating in the same physical space
As shown in the figure below, due to multiple participants accessing multiple participants, some participants in the conference room need to use their own mobile computers to project the screen. Since the sound of the mobile device is repeated with the indoor terminal, interference and repetition occur. It is generally recommended that participants wear headphones to avoid crosstalk between devices. If there are multiple devices participating in the conference in the same physical space, the microphone and audio of one device can be kept for normal use when speaking, and other devices can be muted and the audio sound minimized to effectively avoid echoes.
Multiple terminal video joining
In the three scenarios introduced above, the methods of avoiding echoes are relatively simple and convenient. In addition, in large conference rooms, these echo elimination contents are generally considered in the decoration and audio layout. In addition, the anti-interference ability of the equipment is also extremely important, and everyone needs to pay more attention to it during use.
